There's no one like you. Be yourself; everyone else is taken. I've heard these sayings all my life. Never really understood them. From the scientific point of view, every human being is different. That's a fact. On the other hand, how is it possible to feel such a deep and strong connection with someone if we are different?
Anyway, I've learned that despite all of our differences, all human beings have something in common; we don't like feeling lonely. Loneliness is a feeling that often is experienced as negative and painful because it is fueled by trauma, loss, grief, a lack of self-esteem and insecurity.
No man becomes great on his own. No woman becomes great on her own. The people around them help to make them great. We all need people in our lives who raise our standards, remind us of our essential purpose and challenge us to become the best version of ourselves.
In my case, my family is a little bit fucked up. ¿Whose family isn't, right? What I mean is that we are different from the rest; we don't guide by blood. Blood makes you related, but loyalty makes you family. We may fight, we may argue, we get mad at each other at times.. but at the end of the day, we are family and the strength of a family is in its loyalty to each other.
