No one bothered to worry about the end of the world anymore, by October of 2012 we just decided that the Mayans were not to be taken seriously. But I guess in the ashes of one theory, another  massive problem must bloom. Now it is the year 2013. The end of the world apocalypse nonsense has been downgraded to a mere memory. But America is no longer the proud nation it once used to be.

My name is Cassy woods I am 16, I have always been the quiet one, avoiding the spotlight, trying my best to stay out of trouble. Now in a world devastated by death and disease thats the best thing to do. ~~~~~~~~~~ Two years ago a disease broke out, killing people.. however it didn't stop there it brought the dead back..... But they weren't the same, they killed and ate anything that moved. The government decided to bomb the cities most infected to slow the spread, but that just made things so much worse. That's not what I fear though, what I fear most is the people who are left. The people we were are gone, and people will do anything it takes to survive.. if there is one thing I would tell the old me it's fight the dead... but fear the living. (Sorry walking dead I love that quote)

Earth is Dead, over population, no food, animal life reduced to just what you see in TV and in Zoo's are all that's left of Nature. Grass has been replaced with fake turf, tree's long gone for their lumber was not able to be regrown at a rate that could match the demand. Places like Alaska were populated so thick you could not find a square foot to stand on let alone live on. Families were living in small 20' by 20' cubicles that were stacked on each other like cords of wood. The Governments only option was to move into space and find new planets to colonize. That was how it was more then 12 thousand years ago, and this is now.
