What is Happiness? Is it the feeling when the wind blows through your hair? Is it singing at the top of your lungs in the shower? Is it the feeling when you laugh at one of your friend's jokes? Or is it simply the feeling of being loved? But then what's love? Is it what books say it is when you get butterflies or tingling sensations through that special someone's touch? Is it when you hug someone so tight you don't ever want to let them go? Is it the sweetest and most addictive kiss? Or is it simply just unconditional love and never wanting to let go of them people for however long you have to live? Happiness? Love? What are they really? Does anyone really know? But for Harper Perl, she doesn't feel either of them whether it is love or happiness they both don't exist in her vocabulary. Harper Perl is the most popular girl in school. Yeah, I know what you're thinking she must be a stuck up rich kid like every other popular girl. Every hour, every minute and every second of the day is her enemy; she fears the place she is supposed to call 'home' and most of all she fears the pain that awaits there. Being bashed, cut, stabbed and scarred for life isn't the way she thought her life would go. Sometimes Harper wonders if her life is really worth living. But what happens when drop dead gorgeous bad boy, Reece Williams enters her life. Will he open up and heal the broken pieces in Harpers heart or will he push her more over the edge? He asked and I looked up at his eyes. I didn't have to ponder over the matter long. "I don't know." I said softly. Daimen frowned and studied me for a while, "Just wondering, because you seem to love pissing me off. And most people don't. So I guess you need some figuring out to do." ********* Daimen and River were both seniors at the same high school, they took some of the same classes, walked the same halls, live in fair distance from each other, but they couldn't have been more different. When high school was over River and Daimen became ghosts to each other but then years later fate decides to bring them back together. River Sparrow hates confrontation. She's jumpy, but tries to see the bright side of situations. She's quiet, soft spoken, the "teacher's pet," and keeps to herself a lot. She's a volunteer at the local animal shelter and loves one dog in particular the most. Daimen Princeston would fight in a heartbeat. He's strong, intimidating, and pretty much has people running for the hills at the very aspect of him getting angry. His devil-may-care attitude swirls around him and no one wants to get on his bad side. Of course River is afraid of him, and she has a good right to be. But when River starts to learn more of the young man everyone fears she starts to see him in a new way. After some time feelings grow stronger and she hopes she's not fallen for a murderer. And if she has, who is she to deny him the love he so desperately needs?
