One meter tall. Reptile skin. Protruding fangs. Unfriendly, snarling, hard to get rid of. And all green. Goblin. A whole tribe, actually. For years they have plagued the valley, which soon had to add another point to the long list of shattered nerves: the birth of a boy, walking by the hand with an absurd, inviting madness for a dance. Here's Howk: moderately smart, locked in the cage of his own mind, living in the stereotype of rural pathology. The guy who causes problems at every turn, disappointing everything that could be disappointed, and constantly driving either father mad or mother cry. Or both. And if that was not enough, he finds his best friends not in his peers, but in this damned forest plague that everyone in the town would like to eradicate for good.

HOWK is full of raw, strong narration and many humorous inserts, all in relatively simple language, sprinkled by the reality with a goblin on the back of the neck.

At First Sight di LilWitch726
24 parti In corso Per adulti
Not your average rejection story. Usually the boy does something stupid - and keeps being stupid - the girl forgives and forgets and gets pulled in by the mate bond. Ignoring all his transgressions because 'the bond said so'. Not this time, sometimes fate gets it wrong and sometimes you grow out of things; like love. Vivian Clark is a mostly normal girl, as normal as you can be when you're more than eccentric mother is the head of a coven of witches. Something that; according to her, is a long standing tradition and more people need their apothecary than Viv realizes. While Vivian practices magic and identifies as a witch, it's more of a religion than a lifestyle in her eyes. She doesn't know there are very real powers laying dormant in her bloodline, and very real creatures that not only lurk in the night but often lurk on her doorstep. Trevor Erikson; a hot shot jock, a playboy, and Mr. Popularity, he could have any girl he wants and often does. Going from one to another and enjoying every minute of it. Despite the fact that he's a werewolf and an alpha's son, he could care less about fated mates or finding a luna for his pack. Which he'll eventually take over at the end of the school year. He doesn't take it too well when his fated mate shows up unannounced, and he does what any asshole would do. He rejects her at first sight. How will the two manage with a rejection floating between them for the remainder of the school year? ************************************** A fast-paced romance with mature scenes, all based in a fantasy world. If that's your vibe this is your story to read. This is my second work and I had to get it out of my brain cause it's all I could think of while writing a completely different book, there will be slow updates.
Curse of Ferreus di Maeve-Ashford
36 parti Completa
Running from his dark legacy, the werewolf hunter River must align with his enemy to protect himself from a vengeful pack and his own family; a low fantasy enemies to lovers story. River is a werewolf hunter, born into the esteemed, silver-lined legacy of the Ferreus Clan. It's not a life he wants and not a life he chooses for himself, and on the eve of his twenty-fifth birthday - on the cusp of an initiation ritual that will seal him into the coffin of his family's legacy forever - he runs. River stumbles upon the quiet town of Crescent Valley, a largely mundane, quaint place of old bookstores and pleasant cafés and peaceful nature walks. He also, through no fault of his own, stumbles onto a gruesome murder scene. Body torn apart, blood still warm, an odd symbol carved into the man's bare, scratched chest. He recognises the signs. Crescent Valley has a wild dog problem. Thinking of his hard-won freedom and desperate for peace, River vows to himself- one last job. So he sets out on a mission to find the killer and put an end to them, if only so he can sleep without feeling the cool handle of a silver knife in his paranoid grip. River soon becomes entangled in a feud between rival werewolf packs clawing for territory, and the alpha of the Crescent Moon pack, Rowan, is getting a little too close for comfort. In Crescent Valley, where monsters roam the streets, it is kill or be killed. Quite literally. ───── • ⋆⋅➶⋅⋆ • ───── Status: Complete Story length: 95,000+ words The cover image has been generated for this story using BingAI.
Another Stupid Spell di billricardi
20 parti Completa
Another Stupid Spell is a first person high fantasy novel, the likes of which hasn't been seen in 60 years. The tone and vocabulary of the story shifts as our narrator, Sorch the orc, finds ways to enhance his intelligence. You get to grow as Sorch grows, learn as he learns, and share his most intimate thoughts. Sorch is an orc mage in a world where orcs are cursed with stupidity every time they cast a spell. The only spell he can safely cast is Enhance Intelligence, which boosts his IQ for a fraction of a second before the curse drains it all away again. Normally casting such a spell would be pointless, but Sorch's tribe has found a way to benefit. Magic that is cast near a mysterious artefact called the 'Voodoo Engine' causes invisible hands to appear, and these hands get work done for his tribe. Sorch is a slave to the Voodoo Engine, casting a single spell over and over again to avoid being beaten by the chief's warrior caste. While foraging for food on one fateful night, our hero happens upon two human mages who are in big trouble. He saves their lives, and in return they give him an amulet that will make his life easier. Unbeknownst to the humans, their gift grants Sorch the power to break the cycle of intelligence drain and physical abuse. With the help of his friend and mentor, Shaman, Sorch becomes a real mage. Sorch leaves his swamp and embarks on a series of incredibly exciting and dangerous adventures. During his travels he encounters horrible injury, magical treasures, love, snow, university admissions tests, a plot against the Kingdom, and then of course he saves the world. Or does he? Be prepared to rethink everything you know about thinking. If your own intelligence was the fuel that your magic ran on, how brightly would you dare to burn?

Fatal Bonds

46 parti In corso Per adulti

Hopelessly, a young boy wanders through the desolate streets of Eldorium's slums, belonging to nowhere but the dust. He has no recollection of anything - only that he finds himself drawing closer to the preeminent palace each day. Eldorium is a kingdom of conquered riches, clashing steel and an irrefutable rank of who is ontop and who is below the pyramid. The sand has seen an overflowing amount of bloodshed over all the years this formidable empire has stood. It all means nothing to him, until he stumbles upon a boy cornered into an alley of the gilded markets. One thing he discovers about himself is his ability to fight, which lands him on his knees before the throne, where the boy he aided turns out to be the prince. The prince pleads for mercy upon his new friend, for a commoner mingling with a royalty is forbidden, especially a commoner with no records of existence - ever. The king grants him training to become the prince's personal assassin; a deadly shadow for a powerful sun. They face the world together. Everyday is spent sweating blood or drawing it from the battles they dive into sword-first, falling even the most impenetrable kingdoms side by side. However, not even the desert can bury the dark secrets of Eldorium, nor can it whisper warnings of the daunting times to come. And the Gods... well, they see everything. And their rage grows, with Eldorium at the center of it.
