During the chunin exams one of the legendary sannin Orochimaru planted a curse mark on him and he said he will train him if he left the village to become stronger to kill his brother and some other things.
At first we wasn't going to betray the village but he soon realized he needed to get stronger especially when his yellowed hair best friend was "slowly getting stronger then him" so he decided to become rouge and leave the village

But little did he know Sakura haruno
One of his fangirls, his classmate, his teammate was following him and found him when he was about to leave the village
Of course he could have gotten rid of her but when she said that little speech
Of her loving him her promising to become stronger, and not to get in his way
Something snapped in him and he brought the pink haired female civilian shinobi, sakura haruno with him.

Watch the journey of them both getting stronger, naruto trying to bring them back to the village, then achieving their goals and maybe finding romance between the sweet haruno and the cold hearted uchiha.
