Following the murder of William Tacket, Henry and Mel must follow the clues he left behind to discover the real reason the federal government has occupied Colorado Springs as monster attacks around the world escalate to an intensity never experienced in recorded history.

The Monsters and Magic Investigation Agency, the MMIA, has occupied Colorado Springs to root out the organization responsible for the attacks last year, but their real motive remains a mystery.
Miss Fay has been imprisoned by the MMIA. After hearing rumors that she was going to be executed, Henry and Mel decide that it is time to rescue her. It will be the first big move against the MMIA, and if anything went wrong, the consequences could be extreme.
