Zoey Ellis is not the definition of damsel in distress. Even though she had the childhood that would pass off to be a killer story line for a soppy soap opera and put Cinderella to shame but the only difference is she isn't waiting to be saved by a knight in shining armour or prince charming like in every other fairy tale. That's why she hates romance, relationships, and boy or anything related to them. She believes we created our own happy endings and is happily working her way towards her own by going to law school, juggling two part time jobs and staying the hell away from dating!
Her motto in life is work till you drop. Not necessarily meaning death but work, to earn and save as much as possibly before becoming physically incapable of doing so, and that's why everything could beat it till she was thirty!
She saw no harm in that and in all honesty, there wasn't until a certain bully from her school years magically pops back in her life to make her days living hell again. That cues Taylor, Taylor Tanner. The guy who once did not waste any opportunity to humiliate Zoey vows he will continue to do the same, the only difference being he is now a top model and his tactics to bully Zoey involve a contract, manipulating her to be his personal assistant and toying with her feelings.
