Renata wakes up on a hotel bathroom floor feeling as if her skull has been crushed. Turns out, it almost was-and the person who assaulted her wants to leave her in some strange man's hotel room.
Wait, why isn't her face her face? And who is this small five year old boy who seems to be attached to her hip? Is this amnesia... or no, these names. They sound familiar. Like the characters in a book she recently read.
And her character, the one she's living as now? Was supposed to die from that head injury.

Author's Note: This started as a NaNoWriMo2022 experiment in the transmigration genre. Even though I hit 50K (congrats to me) in 2022, the story itself still isn't complete. Then, I continued working on it for NaNoWriMo 2023. I didn't hit 50K that year (though I got close, with most of it written on the 30th, naturally), but I DID... not finish the story either. SO, I'm editing and posting the words written last year this November (2024) and then I'm going to attempt to, you know, finish the story. Wish me luck!

She is Fatal to Death (Standalone Story)
She's dead by the third chapter. Okay, it's a bit more complicated than that. Okay, it's A LOT more complicated than that. Renata wants nothing more than to pay her bills through her mildly boring office job and figure out whether she is still in love with her best friend. The latter half of that desire is just a sneak peak into her messy life-and it's only getting messier. Considering the paranormal world she is about to dive head first into, she will come to realize that figuring out her heart may just be the easiest part of this journey. Well, the endless supply of supernatural hotness in this story may beg to differ-but that's besides the point. Either way, it's gonna be a killer time ;) EXCERPT Chicken tacos it is. Right as Renata grabbed the ingredients, she turned to put them next to the stove, where a clean, plastic cutting board awaited. But as she moved, she was confronted by a stranger, an intruder, standing mere inches from her. Before she could scream, he was on her, slamming her against the fridge. Her back flashed with sharp pain. Her eyes pricked with fear as she drank in his uncovered face. Deeply tanned skin. Ruby red eyes-ruby red eyes? Thick, slashing eyebrows. Flat, broad nose. Buzzcut. Handsome. That was as far as she would go in complimenting him considering this guy held a knife to her throat. When he spoke, his voice came out like thunder. It held a thousand threats and a thousand secrets. It held promise of pain if provoked. "If you scream," he warned, mouth pulled in a slight snarl, "this ends quickly." She didn't dare nod against the blade. He noticed and amusement lit up for just a second in those devilish eyes. Oh, whoever the fuck this was, she already hated him. Considering her predicament, panic was the most prominent emotion coursing through her at the moment. "Good." Liliana "Lily" Hamill is just your average working woman. 5'5" with wavy brown hair the color of milk chocolate and blue eyes, she's never been described by anyone as "a catch." Abused for years, young 9 year old Ren finds refuge in the streets of downtown Memphis. Living on the streets by yourself can be a challenge, but she finds strength in some odd characters. After finding an underground fighting arena she gets embedded into a new and exciting world. Danger follows her like a shadow, adventure in every turn, and curiosity sits on her shoulder like the devil. Soon after her first fight things go downhill in her life, how will she move forward? First book out of ??? ( I'm planning at least 3-4) This is the 4th time I have put this story up on Wattpad, but I am going to follow through and put the whole entire story up. With a first installment of 20 chapters, then 5 chapters a week until we get through it. I need beta readers and editors desperately. While this is up on Wattpad I will be working on major revisions and edits. I would like comments on my characters, plots, settings, scenes, grammar, spelling, ect. I expect and want people to rip this apart by the seams and tell me the good, the bad, and the nasty. I will not delete or block a bad review or critique unless it is outright hate and judgmental that just does not need to be around. I really hope you like this as it took me 17 months to write it to completion, and I know it will take many more before it is ready to publish.
