On The Run

"You have betrayed us Mathew!" The werewolf snared.
"I have not." Mathew replied.
"She is a mere human, she must die or become one of us." The werewolf bared his teeth.
"I will not let her suffer the same fate as us." Getting into a low fighting stance Mathew growled.
"You have dishonored yourself and our pack! You disobeyed our code and you have been a disappointment to me! Let this be a lesson not to disappoint your leader again." The werewolf lunged at Mathew.
Watching the battle between Mathew and the werewolf I stood where I was, holding my breath. I'm sorry, I thought to myself as I ran out into the middle of them. Before I knew what was happening I received a shattering blow that sent me into something hard. I let out a ear piercing scream from the excruciating pain running through my body.
"Kate!!!!" Someone yelled as blackness began to obscure my vision.
