His eyes were as watery as can be; tears fell beautifully from his waterline like the Niagara Falls. His lips quivered; he made trembled, but gentle breaths, as though he was trying not to scare you. His brows were upturned into a saddened expression.

His slender hands shook on the piano keys; and for what seemed like several minutes, he hesitantly began to a play a mellow tune, refusing to turn his head west to acknowledge your presence in the room.

You listened to the soft melody for a while; and for a split second, you remembered that moment when he first taught you the ways of music. It was such an enchanting moment for the both of you; for different reasons.

You didn't mean to hurt him so terribly. The last thing you wanted was to make this sweetheart of a man cry; but you were determined to make it back to your fiancé.

"I apologize for my carelessness," You started, shifting your feet. You looked to the floor. You weren't used to owning up to your mistakes.

You supposed it was due to your upbringing.

"My blatant disregard for your feelings was unacceptable."

You looked to the side of his face, hoping for some sort of reaction. Your heart ached just saying it; you were hurting him, and it was affecting you horribly.

The piano tune slowed; but never once waned. His eyes became softer at the apology, but the tear stains on his face remained.

"Do you..." He stopped, his soft, sultry voice never once raised when speaking to you.
If you weren't so upset, it would've made you smile. He was such a considerate fellow.

"Still wish to leave?" His tone was somewhat hopeful. In the back of his head, he was praying you'd change your mind. There was nothing he wanted more than to be with you. After all, you were so good to him. The patience you had in dealing with his timidity and awkwardness was astounding.

You stopped, carefully choosing the words. You had to be honest with him. He deserved the truth.

"At the moment, yes. Yes, I do."

His irises swirled slowly, an enticing pale silver against his stark black lashes. They illuminated slightly, so quick it was gone in a blink. He broke our eye contact, lifting his head straight. A darkly amused expression appeared. It happened so quickly it seemed like a mask appeared. I blinked myself out of my trance, and turned on my heel to see what was at the receiving end of his humor. Augustus stood there. His face contorted into anger as he took in my ruined dress. His hands shook in his fury. "Roman." Augustus nearly snarled the name. "Have you come to join us, little King? The party was just getting started." So his name was Roman, some big secret. I rolled my eyes at the reveal as well as his taunting sentence. "Davina, what is going on here?" Augustus asked, his eyes full of betrayal. I had never seen him so guarded. I could feel his anger through my bones. His words were careful. What was he talking about? My brows furrowed at the insinuation, "What?" A line of smoke floated around my right shoulder and come between Augustus and I. How convenient. I had the desire to swipe it away but didn't. "What can I say, she...seduced me." Roman purred. His voice was a sensual whisper in my left ear. I subconsciously lifted my shoulder and backed away from it. Not only because he had lost his fucking mind, but also because it shot down my spine, caressing my skin. ** This book contains mature content. She wanted to die. He wanted to live. ••• A hand grabbed onto my wrist, yanking me back just as the train rushed past, before I'd even had time to comprehend whether or not I'd carry out the action. I stumbled back into the person's chest, my heart jumping out as I swivelled around, startled to find myself staring into piercing dark brown eyes. "Were you going to jump?!" "No," I drawled out sarcastically, ignoring the intensity of his eyes as they bore into my own, "I just stand on the edge of train platforms at midnight because I feel like it." Seeing the stranger tense, I stepped away from the edge, feeling his hand let go of mine as I picked up my bag before moving to sit down on one of the platform benches. Letting out an evident sigh of relief, he sat down after tentative movements towards me, and I could feel his intense gaze raking across my features. His eyes never left me, I was sure of it, with every step both he and I had taken. "Are you okay?" He had asked warily, apparent apprehension in his deep voice while he spoke, "Do you want to talk about it?" "What's there to talk about?" I threw his question back at him, watching him study me for a few critical moments before his potent gaze switched to our surroundings. "I did just watch you nearly kill yourself; that might be a place to start?" ••• She didn't expect for a complete stranger to stop her milliseconds away from committing suicide. She didn't expect him to be so kindhearted and patient. He didn't expect to stop her from jumping in front of a train the first time they met. He didn't expect to find himself falling for the one girl he knew he shouldn't. [Word Count: 180,000 - 200,000]

Tears threatened to spill out from my eyes as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. DEVASTATED and BETRAYED. Suddenly, the door of the room opened and slammed shut. I looked at his reflection from the mirror and wiped off my tears hurriedly before shoving the card inside one of the drawers, not wanting him to know about it. He came and hugged me from behind resting his chin on my shoulder. Reality dawned upon me and fear crawled up on each and every ounce of my skin. Sweat buds formed on my forehead and neck as I looked at him staring at me intensely from the mirror. His gaze was filled with desire. He turned me towards him by holding my waist gently and sealed our lips in a soft and gentle kiss. I closed my eyes trying to hold back my tears which were ready to spill out anytime feeling disgusted with his touch. At that moment of helplessness, all I was praying to God was 'please god let it be a dream where I'll wake up beside the love of my life, my Rann' but the saddest reality is it's not. "My Rann is a ruthless killer. He is a Devil with whom I got married."

In a world dominated by werewolves, Odette leads a simple, human life until what was supposed to be the best day of her life, her wedding day, takes a nightmarish turn. Luca, a powerful world-leader and Alpha, claims her as his mate, which forces her into a desperate fight for her freedom. Now on the run, Odette encounters challenges that will test her wit and strength. Will she surrender to the relentless pursuit, or fight back? ~~~ I round the corner to see a group of freakishly-tall and handsome men. There were three men in the group, one instantly stood out to me even with his back toward me. He had deep black hair and I could tell strong lean muscles were hidden beneath his button-up shirt. I falter in my steps a bit, something in my mind telling me to go another way, to ask someone else for help with directions. But I keep walking closer. Something else within me tells me it will be okay. As I get closer, the two men who were facing my direction look towards me and I stop, keeping a safe distance. Hopefully they are able to help me, and not turn me away just because I'm a human. "Hi, um, could you tell me where the front desk is?" The man whose back was facing towards me stiffened. "I think I'm a little..." The man turned toward me so quickly it made my heartbeat waver. His deep blue eyes pierced into my brown ones and called out to me. His jawline was chiseled to perfection, lips parted slightly in awe. Every feature of his face was meticulously handcrafted by God. I never thought I could find a wolf so elegant. He was...beautiful. Something in the air shifted. I could feel it in my bones. "...lost," I finished my sentence after a brief pause. No one answered me. Did I say something wrong? I look between the three of them and see that the two men behind the man who was staring so intently at me were looking between me and him. "Mate."

*EDITORS' CHOICE 2021*After falling for her senior year teacher, Louise learns a harsh lesson on what adulthood isn't. Louise has some trauma to unpack. Heartbreak's a bitch, and her first relationship had been anything but normal. Thinking herself mature for her age, her affair with Mr. Cain started swooningly well. Except things ended quite abruptly. It's a lot for a seventeen year old to handle. But who's really at fault for what happened? Who even is Mr. Cain, and what is he hiding? From the wreckage of her naivety and self-esteem, can Louise save her friendships and rebuild herself? Our love songs aren't telling the whole truth. How can this be? In this tale of vulnerability, adolescence and painful reckoning, the arrogance of youth demands a price. * "'You're what, Louise?' he asked. 'You're sorry? What am I supposed to do here? How can I turn this around? How can I tell you that everything you want and feel is reciprocated, when I have to go back to work and pretend none of it happened?' 'I don't know the answer!' I cried. 'Neither of us do.' I threw my hands up in defeat. He caught them before they could fall. 'But how do I go back to living without your words?' His voice became a whisper. He squeezed my fingers tightly, closing his eyes and bringing them to his chest. 'I need how you make me feel, Luiza. I need it to feel alive. I won't stay away. No one's made me feel this good before. And I can't stand myself for wanting what I want. What do I do?' I was a violin bow on the verge of splintering. Every inch of me pulsed with an ache that began from the marrow of my bones. Fate had brought us here. At this crossroads of ours, there were a hundred different choices to make. A thousand different lifetimes to choose from, stemming from and decided entirely by my next choice. And in the end, I chose incorrectly. I held his face between my hands, feeling the echoing pulse of his skin. I brought his face to mine. I kissed him."

In the middle of a heated, desperate moment, to be hers forever... I flinched as he smashed the glass with his bare hands, my harsh accusations still hanging in the air between us. The shattering sound echoed through the room, a cruel symphony of heartbreak. Blood dripped from his knuckles, pooling onto the floor, and his eyes, glistening with unshed tears, locked onto mine. "I love you, Victoria!" he shouted, his voice laced with desperation. "God damn it! Why are you the only one who can't see it?" His words trembled with a mixture of anger and sadness, each syllable a plea. "Would any man go to such lengths for a woman he merely pities? Do you really think I'd bring you here, to this place, if I wasn't hopelessly in love with you?" His voice cracked, and I could see the vulnerability beneath his fury. "I love you. I need you. I can't keep pretending like I don't care anymore," he said, tears streaming down his face. "I hate how you smile at Kaden, how you blush around other guys. It kills me every time. "He took a step closer, his gaze never leaving mine, and reached out with his uninjured hand to gently cup my face. His touch was tender, contrasting with the storm of emotions raging inside him. "Just say you'll be mine, Vic," he whispered, his voice softer now, almost pleading. "I know you love me too." He was right. I did love him. Ever since that day I helped him with his tie, I had begun to care for him in ways I didn't want to admit. I had tried to deny it, tried to convince myself that I could never fall for the obnoxious jerk I once knew. But here I was, standing in front of him, my defenses crumbling, my heart laid bare. "I... I love you, Lewis," I confessed, my voice breaking as tears streamed down my cheeks. "I love you so much." And in that moment, surrounded by the shards of glass and the weight of unspoken feelings, I knew there was no turning back.

Before I begin, I just want to say that this story does include some mature themes. I will also give out a warning a chapter prior to these scenes. Getting that out of the way, let's go onto the story description... *This book contains explicit content* *EXTRACT FROM THE BOOK* I stared at him, cooking and whistling, something that I could not do, or should I say, wasn't bothered to do. I decided to move away and to try and find an exit but I didn't even take one step back when I heard his voice. "Princess? Is that you?" I saw him raise his head before shooting his eyes onto me. The sudden gaze caused to heart to race while it froze my body as if I have turned into ice. I felt the fear engulf my body, eating me inside out. "You aren't scared of me... Are you?" he asked me, I sensed the envy in his voice. That mixed with his harsh tone caused a wave of goosebumps to course through my body. I wanted to begin by asking him where was I? Why was I here? Why was he here... I wanted to ask him, but I couldn't, the fear was just all too much for me. "Come on... Speak to me... Ask me..." he began. "Ask me 'why am I here' and all of that crap... Entertain me with your fear." I saw him slowly gripping a knife that was on the countertop, with his eyes still on mine. The sides of his mouth slowly began tilting upwards. All the bitterness and the cold, it was all so visible in his eyes. I looked at him in horror, noticing him as he took his first steps towards me. "Talk to me... Because this might be the only time you will ever be able to talk, " he said this sentence in such a calm tone, it caused me once again to shiver with goosebumps. "W-what do you mean...". Never in my life have I stuttered, until then.
