Not long after the Withering Zones had disappeared entirely from Sumeru, another dangerous entity crawled from the depths of the earth to corrupt the land once more.
A black, oozing substance, which tainted the minds of those who fell upon it, taking control of such minds and using them to corrupt Sumeru even more.
Due to this threat, a small team was called to research this mysterious phenomenon, consisting of Cyno, the General Mahamatra, Tighnari, an experienced Forest Watcher and Amurta Researcher, and his apprentice, the Trainee Forest Ranger Collei.
