**A Phantom of the Opera Fan Fiction**
The Phantom's plan was perfect - get rid of the Prima Donna and surely Christine will be the only one that could play the part. It's been stated several times - "There is no understudy for La Carlotta!"
...but what if there is?
Elizabeth Bell seems like she is just another chorus girl, but she steps up confirming that she is the understudy for the role. After a successful opening night, she learns that she has gotten in the way of the infamous Opera Ghost's plans and now has to abide by his rules or leave. 
What is she going to do now? Especially when she starts to get to know this mysterious man behind the mask? Does she stay in the shadows of the Opera or move on?
