Hi my name is Emily and I am 14 years old. I have 3 little brothers but beside that I have my mother and grandmother by my side too. When I was 3 the closest person to me died, my grandfather. Then when I was around age 11 my parents got divorced. And finally at age 13 going on 14 my closest aunt died. So you could say i've lost some of the people closest to me. My mom had a passion for poetry when she was younger so I guess I sort of inherited that liking. When I was younger I hated poetry and was forced to write it but now that im older I have to learn to deal with these things in school. Now that im older I realized that poetry is not just about ryhming but about feelings, the way people feel inside can hurt them or lighten there world. ok so enough about me lets just get on to the poems.

Abigail
(In editing) She's depressed. She's anorexic. She's suicidal. She's insecure. Abigail has grown up with her three brothers and James, never meeting her parents, who abandoned her at birth. Her brothers were left to take care of her and keep a roof over their heads. Everyday they struggle to take care of Abigail, while working to keep them in their home. Life for them is hard. Life for Abigail is even harder. She has a dark mind and not by choice. Somewhere along the way she's developed these feelings of loneliness and hopelessness. Everyday is a struggle for her and just getting out of bed is a success. She meets Zach, a bad boy with a bad reputation. He starts off as a tutor, just to help her out, out of pity. But eventually feelings get involved and Abigail finds herself liking a boy for the first time in her life. Things get serious and she somehow learns about his drug dealing business. Everything gets hectic and Abigail doesn't know what to do with her life anymore. Or if she even wants to live.Complete
The Wind
A collection of poems, short stories and writings. Well, essentially just poems at the moment. Variety of influences I will always be willing to disclose for specific poems. Some are darker than others (see tags for possible triggers). Please comment any thoughts. Well it seems I have poured more of myself into this book of poems than I've really expressed to any one person irl. But the masochist inside me really wants you all to read it because why not share my head with strangers? But maybe this matters. Maybe this shows something- some progression becuase some of the earliest poems are are about, or reference, self harm and I'm glad to say that's behind me. I can follow a lot of my relationship with existentialism throughout it, as well as simply my attitude towards poetry (quatrains of iambic tetrameter with abab rhyme schemes are still cool but they aren't my go-to.) So yeah, maybe writing poetry in a toilet when I'm trying to calm down from a panic attack, or better yet in the midst of having one, and putting it up on some anonymous platform means something. Because I'm still not what else does.Complete
The Twisted Mind
"I felt as if I didn't belong, And I felt as if i'm not sick enough" Alfie struggles with the concept of food. He loves it, he hates it and just wants to find peace with it and within himself. He wants to make up with his body, his mind but he's lost all control so he's finding it hard to live. Alfie Hailo, a 16 year old swimmer, has been struggling with food since the age of 13. His parents put him in dance class when he was 6 but he was getting bullied as he got older, so decided to quit and choose a more 'masculine' sport.His father also left the family home 2 years prior and has been struggling to understand why. He has amazing friends, and an amazing family who love and care for him dearly but, he doesn't feel this. He feels like he has to be perfect. With the pressure of school, and having to keep up to the social norms of a professional swimmer, it's hard for Alfie to concentrate. He needs the help. And to do this, Alvin helps. Alvin helps him find his worth, take control, and makes his life easier, or so he seems. His best friends, Killian and Ruby, know Alfie inside and out. They know his family life, school life. And this is because Alfie is a simple person. He has never had a detention, nor has he been expelled. He's a straight A student with no history of alcohol or drug abuse. Will they suspect anything? How will Alfie proceed with his excruciating pain. Will he cover it up or will he find the courage to speak up and seek help?Complete
Weathered Love
"You're not a burden," he said. "OK," I said, again, trying to play it off like I didn't care. I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep up the façade. I could feel the tears banging against the barricade just behind my eyelids, the sobs clawing at the walls of my throat... they were demanding to be let out. "Don't shut me out," he begged in a desperate whisper. *** If only the guys in Ivy's life could be as in love with her as she is with them. Ever the tomboy to keep herself from getting hurt, Ivy knows it's safer to yearn from afar than it is to love up-close. Types of tears (COMPLETED)
Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩
Bonnie and her seven brothers lives changed forever, after the sudden and tragic death of Bonnies' parents, eight years ago. They had to find a way to survive and make ends meet, staying with their uncle and cousins until her oldest brother, Alexander could become their legal guardian. Bonnie has never really 'loved' herself. When she was younger, she would always pick out something about her she didn't like. Whether it was a bruise on her arm, or her slightly disheveled hair, she would be upset and unhappy with her appearance. She has always craved to be liked, loved and accepted. She's now 14 and is starting her first year as a freshman at high school. Though high school isn't going to be easy like it was for her popular, loud brothers. Jealousy. Heartbreak. Bullies. Pressure. Judgement. Adapting to a new change is hard. Bonnie can't quite take it, she gets overwhelmed, and her brain feels too 'busy'. She can't help feeling what it would be like if she wasn't there or if she stayed silent, nobody would notice. She doesn't crave to be a popular girl, or to be eye candy for the boys, she just wants to be known as 'pretty' and liked. Her worst nightmare is to be known as the far girl, or the ugly one. This need becomes overwhelming, and soon her body shuts down, and her mental health plummets. She does some things, things she will regret in the future yet in the moment cures her need to feel alive, it brings satisfaction. Will her older brothers be able to save her? What happens when it all gets too much? They might be able to save her from other people, but can they save her from herself?... If you asked anyone they would tell you that Tommy's living the dream! He's an internet sensation and has the best friends anyone could ask for. But if you asked Tommy he would say he was far from perfect. Between his eating disorder and his homophobic father he can't help but hate himself. This is made even more apparent when things take a turn for the worst, something that even Tommy couldn't even predict. Will Tommy's friends be able to help him at his all time low or will his overwhelming thoughts get the best of him? Looking back, I really hate how I wrote this. It wasn't really planned and was more of a vent post so dont expect too much lol. Fragile
Is weight what really matters in life? Maybe it is, maybe it's not. Maybe some people care about it more than others. Livia, 17-year-old girl gets to experience the real raw world. Friends, best friends, are suddenly making her conscious of her body. The comments are driving Livia to the deep end, suffering endlessly from the need to starve, to always be more beautiful.
