Allison is the daughter of a baker and his wife, and her brother dreams of becoming a revolutionary mechanic. But the bakery isn't making enough money, so she applies to become a maid at Lord Falmouth's estate. She was supposed to become a simple house maid for the Falmouth family's living quarters to keep the place tidy, but things don't go according to plan when The Young Lord's personal servant is found out to be a homosexual. In oder to escape scandal, Oliver Falmouth needs a new personal assistant. Due to the lack of men in the village suitable for the job, Allison is chosen as Oliver's assistant simply because she is not Oliver's type. Allison quickly discovers that she and Oliver are unusually drawn to each other romantically. Will their budding romance be able to last through the politics in the estate and the political downfall of the kingdom?
