how do you tell apart a dream from reality? isn't reality just the universe dreaming it's alive?
so then, how do you tell apart a nightmare from reality? isn't reality just a never-ending nightmare?
Well, sometimes nightmares can teach you things, sometimes you just have to listen closely to your darkest dreams to see the truth, and sometimes you just have to live through nightmares to see the future.
Some nights I'm transported into the future, to a post-apocalyptic version of my world, sometimes I don't remember what I saw, some other times I write it down; sometimes I'm afraid of what lures in the back of my mind, waiting for me to fall asleep, and when I do, I slide into a world of agony, horror, and darkness, I see into a world of extinction.
This is the story of the future, Join me on a journey to the end of the world and dive with me into the dreadful ocean of Nightmares.

Two stories, brought together by twists, turns, and a mess of events. (Y/N), a kindly soul from Recoverytale, finds themselves assuming the role of hero, a role they never wanted. Although they are safe with Dream by their side, no one else is. And that simply isn't fair, is it? They both wish for their happy ending, but it'll take more than hopes and dreams to get it. Meanwhile, Nightmare is in a state of divided conflict. As he rebels against the Darkness, the Darkness fights back. Nightmare is just as desperate as (N/N)-if he doesn't stop himself, the Multiverse will be torn apart at his hands. Dream is trying desperately to both protect (Y/N) and save his brother. But there's no time to save both of them before the Multiverse collapses into chaos. As a war rages on between positivity and negativity, (Y/N) and (N/N) are forced to work together-but it's not only their lives at stake. It's the life of the Multiverse-and a fallen prince-that's on the line. Burden And Beyond
Preface Sometimes, our dreams represent what we went through during the day. Some might argue that it is our brains way of filing all the new information every night from the twelve hours spent prior to sleeping. Sleep would be something that if we didn't experience it every day, something incredibly terrifying. Our body shuts off, processing and storing, like a machine. Our dreams are something that are mostly insignificant. But with some people, they mean something and tell us something, perhaps even warn us. Most of us with this insight ignore it, but I couldn't.Complete
Fear
All I've ever known is fear, and a strange dream...a reoccurring nightmare, where someone is hunting me, chasing me, never gaining or receding, in a strange place where everything is bathed in an orange hue. I live in a grey world where everyone is the same....if anyone finds out I'm not 'normal', it will mean a trip to the 'mind doctor, who I fear more than the nightmares. I could lose what little independence I have...it's all I own, all I am. Until one day, the dream finds me... I wake from the latest nightmare, and find a note warning of danger, and that 'they' are coming. When I wake and hear someone speaking - that I can't see, but can feel...who tells me that I am not who I think I am....I have nowhere to run... Should I listen? Wait?
