how do you tell apart a dream from reality? isn't reality just the universe dreaming it's alive?
so then, how do you tell apart a nightmare from reality? isn't reality just a never-ending nightmare?
Well, sometimes nightmares can teach you things, sometimes you just have to listen closely to your darkest dreams to see the truth, and sometimes you just have to live through nightmares to see the future.
Some nights I'm transported into the future, to a post-apocalyptic version of my world, sometimes I don't remember what I saw, some other times I write it down; sometimes I'm afraid of what lures in the back of my mind, waiting for me to fall asleep, and when I do, I slide into a world of agony, horror, and darkness, I see into a world of extinction.
This is the story of the future, Join me on a journey to the end of the world and dive with me into the dreadful ocean of Nightmares.

Two stories, brought together by twists, turns, and a mess of events. (Y/N), a kindly soul from Recoverytale, finds themselves assuming the role of hero, a role they never wanted. Although they are safe with Dream by their side, no one else is. And that simply isn't fair, is it? All I've ever known is fear, and a strange dream...a reoccurring nightmare, where someone is hunting me, chasing me, never gaining or receding, in a strange place where everything is bathed in an orange hue. I live in a grey world where everyone is the same....if anyone finds out I'm not 'normal', it will mean a trip to the 'mind doctor, who I fear more than the nightmares. I could lose what little independence I have...it's all I own, all I am. Until one day, the dream finds me... I wake from the latest nightmare, and find a note warning of danger, and that 'they' are coming. When I wake and hear someone speaking - that I can't see, but can feel...who tells me that I am not who I think I am....I have nowhere to run... Should I listen? Wait? What dreams are made of.. The answer seems to escape him, as his sleep patterns are going through unforeseen changes. Grasping at straws, getting stuck in those webs of the dream state, he desperately tries to navigate his way out of. But how come, no matter how hard he tries, he still can't identify the catalyst for such a radical shift that has sent his equilibrium into a spiral? A dreamer who dreamt of a dream once slept inside the dream while contemplating yet another dream.. How does it go again?.. Aren't we all just a tad bit drowsy? I have a secret that I don't share with most. I've been swept up into something bigger than anything I could ever imagine, and now I'm involved with more than just this one world. Our universe is bigger and more amazing than anyone realizes. Reality is merely subjective; we judge it based on what we experience and perceive, even when others do not share the same experiences. When my life turned upside down, I wasn't trying to fall in love; I wasn't trying to get too involved. When my senses all became shared with somebody else, I learned too much to turn away from it all. Her world, so near yet so far away, is something I can experience through her, our senses combined together, our realities overlapped between two places. It's there when my story started. This is our story. It has a beginning, but not an ending. The things that happened to me over all these years would have messed with most people's heads. I put up with all of it, because I couldn't hold back how I felt for her. Little did I know that love comes with a price. As amazing as it is to hear about someone finding their soulmate, it's something that can just as easily tear a person limb to limb, leaving nothing behind but dust. Romance isn't all about walking away in the sweet sunset; it's messy, complex, and downright terrifying at times. My abilities never made any of this easier.Complete
