Jessie Wood has always been against slavery. So has his father. But ever since his mother has passed, Jessie's father has changed his mind about slavery. He thinks of it as free labor. But Jessie holds true to his belief that slavery is wrong. One day, a new "shipment" of slaves comes to the Wood's plantation. As Jessie is force by his uncle, Judd, to help the slaves move into the cabin that they would be living in, Jessie meets a young, beautiful girl. Over time, the two end up falling in love. But they know that their love can't be. Because she was black. Jessie was white. And Jessie was already engaged to another girl.
