On August 7th, a class of 17 to 18-year-olds travel to All Saints Island, a tourist paradise where they'll enjoy their last year of school. Or they were supposed to. That same night, a meteor falls into the island and the next day an event takes that changes their whole lives, and threatens to end them.
This story is being written for NaNoWriMo 2022, and chapters will be posted as they are finished.

Where do you go when you die? For this kid, it's Purgatory. In fact, quite a few visit Purgatory, but most everyone moves on. Not this kid. They've been saved, by Death himself, for a very different mission. They will be reaping and advising souls, keeping the very balance of the universe. They will be the newest guardian reaper. ____________________________________ He raised the scroll again and proceeded reading. "We have evaluated your life, and you do not clearly fit into a category of the afterlife. For this reason, you have been sent to purgatory to be advised. After your trial period, I will decide where you fit, or whether you'll need a second trial for advising." He paused, looked up at me, and frowned. "What's your name?" "Why?"
