This world is set in the past. In a time where nothing was impossible, Where dragons fly above our heads. We learned to ride them, and become friends with them. We created artifacts that make our dragos small and then big again when we need them. That's what sets our world into two sides. A side where dragon riders lived and flew on them. And a side where they hated dragons, and the one that rode them. Even though we managed to work in peace, there was no war between us. Only fights that were under control and rules. In the Arena in the city called Aeloria. A city where there were both sides. They mostly ignored each other. But it was hard to get in this city. Mostly it was the people that lived there. And a few outsiders, but that was either the sellers, chosen group of warriors or dragon riders, and lastly the best fighters of the academies that went into the arena. To prove who is stronger and the winner will receive high quality weapons or any other things of their choice. One day the darkness came and war started. Not between us, but with a kingdom that was across the sea. And this battle or war changed everything we knew. I'm Ardyn, I'm on the side where we ride on dragons. And this story can be easy but also hard to understand. But I will still share it. But first we have to start from the beginning. What will this story bring? Will we be able to see the outcome? *This series features dragons from the mobile game DragonVale. I do not claim ownership of the dragons or designs, only the individual personalities and created lore, which majorly diverges from the canon DragonVale lore.* *Potential gore warning for some of these stories. There are some graphic scenes of violence in "Skytooth" , "Dougal" , "Fiona" , "Photon" , and "Jolt" * This is a series of short stories spun-off from my graphic novel series: From the Void, In the Void, and To the Void. This trilogy documented the journey of two groups of dragons from a dimension known simply as the Void. After a massive famine, this world falls into chaos, giving rise to a pack of cannibals that systematically ends the population. This group is known as the Voidian Raiders. Over the course of the three series, we meet a band of survivors that ultimately defeats the raiders and, later on, teams up with them to save the dying Void. This culminates in the remaining Voidian population settling an island in the Dragon Universe, starting over from scratch. Tales From the Void is a series of side stories, documenting the journeys of other Voidians and their struggles in background of these events. Some directly intersect with the events of the Void series, some only connect losely, and some are connected to entirely other storylines in my vast Dragon Universe continuity. Most are written, however, in a way that you do not need to understand the full scope of the lore, and you are given enough context that you can get the basic story.

The world's war against dragons has been going on for generations, but no one knows why they fought. After years of fighting a new species emerged, shapeshifters. They were able to shift between a dragon and human form, making them impossible to find. Everyone referred to them as halflings, half dragon and half human. They were said to have wondrous abilities ranging from an armor like pelt to healing powers. These abilities made them prized creatures and wanted across all lands. Those that were discovered usually ended up as pets or fighters in arena's. After five years of their existence they all went into hiding, fearing what the humans did to those that had been captured. They were taught at a young age to never show what they could do to a human, as it would lead to being caught and possibly killed. There were small sanctuaries in each town, though they appeared to be normal hotels or orphanages. And this is when our story takes place.... Each mancer has corresponding stones that haven't been disturbed for many generations, until Nightmare got hold of them in his talons. At this time, the Shadowmancers are threatening war on the Sunmancers, accusing them of the stones' disappearance. This caused the queens to turn to a prophecy starring four dragonlings who might just save them all. Nerve is one of the prophecy dragonlings, who has almost lived his entire life not knowing he has his talons in two mancers. While on the journey to restore peace on Drealite, he learns that not every dragon close to him can be fully trusted, and he cannot let his guard down. (I'm keeping this up for reminiscence reasons, my middle school self thanks you 😭)

Fire Fox
It's dangerous to leave fire going while leaving camp. But some people just don't care, why come camp out in the woods in the first place? Whatever the answer is, I hope you're happy. A mystical forest is said to hold spirits of the ancient animals that once lived there, many creatures roam the forest. Some humans wish to see said beings, though they never are able to. Said for one family who decided to try and ended up with nothing, they didn't think about putting out their campfire. A young fox happened to roam where they had just left, seeing the red and orange flames dance in the blackened wood. It got closer and closer, not knowing the dangers. A simple pop and the poor baby fox's fur was set to flames, or ran frantically to get them to go away, but its efforts weren't enough, it simply burned to death, turning into ashes. It's soup now roams the forest, its body made entirely of flames, see as its journey takes him much farther than anticipated. What will come of this young fox? Will it accept its knew life or become impure like the Unrien, darkened souls that leak dangers during the night.
