We sat like that for an hour or so, each enveloped in our own thoughts. It was just reaching around 12 midnight when we stirred once again.
"I should be going..." Dan said after he cleared his throat.
I slid my fingers up his arm to the nape of his neck.
"Stay." I whispered.
He looked at me and kissed my forehead sweetly. He had to go I knew that, but I couldn't help but wish that he was spending the night.
