After the grand reveal of the new idol group "Deep Cut", life surrounding the grand Splatsville has thrived better then ever! Octolings and Inklings have United across the entire region to prosper and thrive-

until the world itself shatters 

In a flash of light Splatsville is torn into two, hundreds of casualties and thousands in disarray as strange anomalies occur. People vanishing in thin air right in front of other people's eyes after witnessing horrific sights via hallucinations. In an attempt to keep their citizens calm, Deep Cut must unite with both "Off the Hook" and "Squid Sisters" and solve the mystery of these strange occurrences before it's too late
