Christmas sucks. 

When Emily Shepherd's boss boyfriend cheats on her with her best friend, she loses everything in one night-love, friendships, job, and home. In a weird fit of desperation (or some deep-rooted need to punish herself even more) she moves back to her hometown, a place that also holds some emotional trauma.

The ghost of that experience still haunts her, but it's nothing compared to the actual ghosts haunting her. No one believes her, of course. So, two weeks before Christmas Emily has no boyfriend, no friends, no job, no money, and no prospects. But she does have two ghosts. And Leo.

And suddenly, Christmas doesn't suck so much.
