Frankfurt: Abandoning their solitary lives, ghouls have united to an organisation ─ the PPO, which integrates them into human environments in order to maintain the safety of their people and expand their power.

Fed up with the strict supervision, young trainee Levi Ackermann breaks away from the organisation with his foster sister. On their escape, they are separated by agents of the PPO, which is why Levi is in desperate need for help to find her again.

Into the picture comes Detective Erwin Schmidt, who's investigating a mysterious murder related to paranormal activity. His morals are tested when he finds himself forced to work with the unpredictable ghoul, who happens to know answers to his questions, of which some plagued him for life.

Two people who could not be more different have to get along to fight a mutual enemy ─ and realise, they might have more in common than they think.
