This was Lycias first year participating in the Hunt, an annual ritual which every pack meets on neutral territory and the males choose their mates... by hunting them. Females are let out in human form into the woods and given till nightfall to either find one of the few hidden totems, or to plan to avoid any male they see. once darkness falls all unmated wolves shift into their canine forms, and the Hunt begins.
