Secret obsession

Marco and Lara, are two young people with many dreams in the drawer, dreams that unfortunately are destined to be wrecked. Fault of fate? Result of bad choices? Not really ... Their experience is conditioned by Ettore who has an obsession with both. But why does the latter hinder them? Why doesn't he want them to be happy? At the center of the story there is not only a tormented love story but an unstoppable desire for revenge. Revenge becomes the only purpose in the life of Ettore, an influential man and successful publisher. He promised his mother, that boy would lose everything, just like he did. Marco and Lara thus become unaware victims of his machinations. Ettore accuses Marco of her ills and uses Lara to make her pay. The novel is narrated in the first person by the protagonists and is set in the cities of Ancona and Treviso today. The story of Marco, a marshal of the Italian army and Lara, a young and brilliant student, however overwhelming, is destined to end in absurd revenge. With a series of tricks, the astute editor succeeds in his intent and after having separated them, he takes Marco's most precious affection: Lara, becoming not only her partner but also an important point of reference for the girl. After a few years, Marco and Lara meet again, not even this meeting is as casual as they think but the result of the heavy revenge hatched by the perfidious publisher. He wants to inflict on Marco the pain of seeing the woman he loves happy next to him. The meeting, however, does not generate the expected results because the feeling that linked them is much stronger than the one that divided them. Lara, exactly like Marco will find himself having to deal with that lost and unexpectedly found love, with a past that she has never forgotten, because where there has been a great fire there is always ashes.
