"She didn't save my worthless life, sacrificing her valuable one. I killed her."

Truth is not always the savior. Lies are not always the killer. Time is a loop, history a recurrence.

A life destroyed by the bitter truth and one tainted with lies and deceit. When they intertwine, shadows wait to be painted.

After a treaty signed in the blood of martyrs denies the entry of anyone from Lemsire into Shalnine, and vice versa, the only continent remaining in a world captured by chaos is at peace.

But there are always those who seek more.

Kwayliet Vlamnore, daughter of the Lemsirish General finds citizens of the opposition in her country. Reluctant to more bloodshed, she hopes to help them return. Each passing day proves the task more difficult as the shadows of her past darken in the murkiest corners of her mind. Against the centuries of beliefs looming against her, she fights to paint a new era in time.

"I call this one pain. And this lil one right here under his wing is suffering." "No offense, but...who the hell would wanna be reminded of pain and Suffering? If I was going to get something etched into my skin forever, I'd want something that would bring me joy." His grin bemused her. As if he expected her to contradict his moral logic. "True that, shorty. And I agree, no doubt. But who's to say my birds don't bring me joy?" Dumbfounded, Jett lifted her eyes from the silhouetted birds up to meet his tender gaze, stumped on how to answer his question. She shrugged with one arm, "Do they?" * * * Jett Jaletta has enough of her own problems. Unreliable family members that depend on her for everything, too many bills with not enough income. And a federal probation sentence that's held her hostage for the past three years. The last thing she needs is the drama that comes along with a handsome face, drama that could jeopardize everything she's working for - a liberating dance career. But Roman Carter isn't liable for the damage caused by his blessed good genes. As a matter of fact, his alluring appearance and its effect on the opposite sex is the furthest on his list of priorities. The recent murder of his only brother has left him unfocused, indignant, and irrevocably heartbroken. Well, he is focused on one thing...retribution. BlackBiirds is the intertwining story of two characters-who's deepest pains and struggles happen to be caused by the other person. Ironically, surrounding situations, dangerous rivals, and even their own family members cause these two to become tangled in ways they can't escape from. * * * BLACKBiiRDS is the rewritten, reworked 2.0 version of its former draft: Souled Out.

Antigone and Ismene, named after two strong women from Greek Mythology, were the daughters of the Baron and Baroness of Phoenix Territory. As children, though they had their issues, the two sisters were attached at the hip. But when Antigone found her parents dead right before her eyes and her sister was nowhere to be found, things changed forever. At eleven years old, she became the youngest leader in the history of the Badlands. When she was sixteen years old, Antigone and her reagent Erastos, who was her childhood friend and the son of a cog, ran into trouble when their territory was invaded, plunging them into the middle of a war between territories. In an attempt to provide for her people and rebuild her barony from the bottom up, Antigone found herself aligning with Butterfly territory's headstrong Baron known as the Widow. This alignment opened her eyes to an entirely new world. She found herself trusting people whom she never thought that she would trust. After she began training with the Widow, she met a boy who seemed to know more about her than she knew about herself. This led her to discover a dark secret deep within her. The Roseblood Clan. Three thousand years worth of magic cursing through their people's blood. Long before the Bennetts, before the Travellers, The Other Side and the Ancestors, there had been the Roseblood clan. Witches forged from the dying breath of a dragon in the centre of Scotland. The blood of the dragon was the legacy of their people. Yet, stories and history could be twisted by the victors of the many battles that had plagued the clan. A war between kin had destroyed the legacy of the Roseblood Clan. After a thousand years, their rule of magic had come to a halt. For over two thousand years, a story had been spun. The story of the evil siphoner. The abomination that had ruined their line. Yet, the truth loomed, threatening to reveal the true reason as to why siphoners existed. What their true purpose was. Were they abominations, the bastards of the magical world or were they meant to take power from those undeserving to ensure it was not misused? Only the victor of the battle gets to tell the tale. Athena Flora Roseblood was far from a victor. Being a firstborn Roseblood had cursed her like many others before her. Firstborn women in their line were not meant to meet their first breath of air, they were destined to die, to be sacrificed within the womb to help empower their coven, yet for the first time in two thousand years, a firstborn woman had come screaming into the world. Athena was never been meant to be born. Her blood haunted her from the second she took her first breath, her house divided thanks to thousands of years of lies. Lies that may never come to the light of day. Fear was a powerful totem and after two thousand years of lies, it left Athena trapped within the cage created for her. The abomination, the bastard of nature, the Roseblood Siphoner. Nothing to the world but a mistake and a monster.

Until finally the entirety of the power itself was snuffed out, rendering the remaining wolf-borne human. Well, all but one. The princess. The Woman Who Blasphemed by DanishAamir
1 part Complete
The drip, drip brought back the memory of those screams. She could smell the crimson from that day, or was it crimson, salt, left behind by the blood and tears of some other prisoner. Were they abused? She wondered. How were her children. She thought of them a dozen times a day, she asked the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost to keep them safe. Jamil she had long ago realized would be spared his father's beatings. That day only brought it to her conscious. She had always known. But she saw it that day. Her beautiful daughter Maryam, that was who she was more worried about. Drip, drip. Splat. Splat. The water smelled bad. Sour, of shit. It tasted even worse. She had been forced to drink it, they had starved her, and deprived her of water for a few days. Was it days? She didn't know. There was no night and day in this place. Just the collective quiet and screams for food, for water, for mercy. Confessions of sins that the prisoners had not committed, anything to get out. Most harrowing were the screams. The whips, the flays, the screams. She winced every time she heard one. She shivered the first time she had heard one. She shuddered as she thought of that. The hair on her back rose, she pulled her arms around herself. It was unearthly. Not an animal's scream, not her screams when her husband beat her, not even when he had hit her with a bat. Not the screams of the dog that those kids had cornered, and were poking with sticks, some throwing stones at it, as if it were the devil himself. No, none of those screams. This came from a deeper place. This was a scream from before civilization. From before language. This was a scream, guttural. Loud, screeching, very much in pain.
