Why the Doom of Valyria occurred had been a mystery to all across Essos and Westeros, apart from the Maeralys family, Sovereigns of Mantarys, Tolos and Elyria. Three city-states in the northeastern reach of the Valyrian peninsula. 

Currently ruled by a Queen of 8 and 10 and her three elder siblings, they are a well-hidden secret to all across the Narrow Sea, including House Targaryen. 

Having been granted a power only known before the eruption of the Fourteen Flames, Selaena finds herself in Westeros, turning the tide of the Dance of Dragons and wearing a golden crown she had once seen in a dream.

"The only thing that could tear down the house of the dragon was itself." Long ago, the Old King Jaehaerys I Targaryen held a council where all of the great lords of the Seven Kingdoms were summoned. There, they would choose which one will inherit the Iron Throne: the Princess Rhaenys, daughter of Prince Aemon and Lady Jocelyn Baratheon, or Prince Viserys, son of Prince Baelon and his sister-wife, Princess Alyssa. Through a vote the realm decided Viserys would be named Prince of Dragonstone. No woman would sit on the Iron Throne. When the King remarried, his wife gave him a son, his council advised him to name him heir but he never did. The King didn't know then he would lead his realm to a war remembered as the Dance of Dragons.
