Imagine knowing that there is something you have to do. Something that will have huge rippling consequence—not just for you but also for the whole of humankind. Consequences that will heal the planet and deliver the promise of a future to a race that is doomed. Would you do it?

Now imagine knowing that, to complete this action, you will be condemning yourself to death. This is Shiane’s Dakka. For as long as they can recall, planet earth has been in darkness. No sun, moon or stars exist in the sky, only a blanket of poison swirls above them. The survivors and the planet evolved to survive in this harsh environment but what little resources remain are fast dwindling and there are people—people in power—who are not willing to share.

Shiane is a survivor of the darkness. Born from the brave souls who ventured into the dark outlands and learned to live upon the unforgiving terrain. She is more capable than most, inheriting the genetic abilities of her forefathers, she can connect to and manipulate the energies of the planet and the people. With these abilities, however, comes the Dakkar – the dream of your own death. Shiane’s time has come. Her story follows her through her final days and shares the pain of leaving behind the people she loves most.
