Set in the late 1700s, this short account is written in the form of a diary entry by a young woman called Elizabeth. It is her last day in Scotland, but a sudden event means that Herefordshire will never be considered home again.

 A short story for the Tartan Treasures 2015 "Dear Diary" short story competition. The deadline was February 20th 2015.
