Steven Henderson and Kip Pierce have been best friends since 6th grade. As they grew up, the stress and technicalities of high school caused them to drift apart. It wasn't until two months ago, when their mutual friend Evelyn Miller went missing, that the two of them were faced with the opportunity to reconnect. Not just with each other, but with Damien Carter and Rory Harris - the other half of their middle school friend group. The four teens banded together, collecting help and forming bonds with Brad Fletcher, Rachel Ambers, Lawrence Adams, and Addison Waite along the way.
Through a series of unfortunate events, the teens were forced to face the truth about their once-normal town of Sloane. There was something strange in the woods. Something that they couldn't tell anyone else about. Something that took Evelyn. Something that, hopefully, was gone for good.

With Byrone High's Winter Formal approaching, the teens are trying their best to find normalcy in their world that had so recently been turned upside down. A story of friendship, family, horror, and mystery. But when love is put into the mix... will the entire equation be thrown off?
