Kera's friends think there are only two kinds of cool people- those who were born to be popular and the others: who were losers once, but changed and rose to a higher level. Kera falls into the second
categroy, but thanks to the peagan gods, seems that everyone already forgot she was the chick who used to eat her lunch in the girls bathroom.
Then there is the mediocre part of the school's population, they are allowed to exist, because according to Kera's best friend Agnes "someone has to like our instagram photos and parties would be empty-ish without them“. Agnes also has reasonable arguments when asked why she makes fun of the lowest highschool food chain's part- the outcasts. Apparently, we are the generation of image with an attention spam of a three year old and those who don't put effort into mainting their image are abnormal. She explains it in a little simpler way, though „if i spend time doing sqauts and following every trend there is to follow, is it fair that someone can wear the same jumper five days a week?“ she says.
Kera doesn‘t necessarily share the same world view her friends have. Or used to not to. Now she‘s more like Tommy, who doesn‘t pay that much attention to who are the people sitting at the popular table, if he is sitting there with them. Tommy doesn‘t pay attention to anything, really. Kyle pays attention for them both, though.
Kyle is also the only person who can pull of being popular and being himself at the same time. That‘s because he is the first case- born to be popular. People love him, because he brings out the best in them, that is, if there is any best left to bring out.
"We are all tied with invisible strings in this messed up net“ explained Kera when her brother asked why is she friends with people she once hated. And with Kyle putting ideas into Kera‘s head, parties, where everyone ends up drunk, but honest, such events, during which even Agnes shows she has a soul, the net is about to break.
