In this world 2000 years after the Eldian king moved the Eldians into the wall Kingdom. The royals decided to not to kill titans after learning titans and humans are he same. Titans and humans get along. Hanji's dream, right? Titans are captured, rehabilitated, released once it consciousness is awaken, and knows it is a human being.
They have three choices: Live within the walls with a job, or become a soldier, or go be free and frolic in the wild. Some people however don't like the idea of a titan being with in the walls and kill titans themselves or pay a soldier to kill the titan they choose. However, it is against the law.
