Timothy Ember is a recently graduated university student, talked into going on a trip to the UK with a group of old classmates, for the sake of exploring a forest rumored to be inescapable.  Strange happenings in both the village just outside the forest and the forest itself seem to travel deeper than simply a mystery, beginning to test all their sanity and eventually, leading to the truth none of them would ever expect.
