Faye Britewood has a turbulent past. Her childhood was spent on the road with her free-spirited mother, who's endless search for love and self fulfillment came at the price of her daughter's wellbeing. The only peace Faye knew as a child was the summers she spent in the small town of Lupine, Oregon with her grandmother and aunt. Faye grows up largely unaware of her family's supernatural reputation in Lupine, and grows up feeling that something has always been missing.

Faye vows that she will never make the same foolish mistakes as her mother, however, she later learns that life isn't that simple. Love can be a blessing, or a person's greatest downfall if they are not careful. By the time she reaches her thirties, Faye's life comes to a breaking point and finds herself completely stranded and alone. With nowhere to run, she makes the decision to flee to the closest place she's ever had to a home; the small town that she hadn't seen in a decade. Faye struggles to establish herself as she starts life over. She explores buried family secrets, demons from her past, and new gifts she never knew she had. She forms new bonds, and when a handsome local rancher takes interest in her, she is faced with a question: Can she learn to let herself love, and be loved in return?
