If not, there would've been severe punishment. Luckily, she had forced him to release her to be free. After that, she tried to find her place in the world with her newfound freedom. In that time, she meets Eric Northman. They begin a romance that lasts throughout the decades. Things were good for a while, until 1982, when a tragedy forced them apart. Now, in 2008, vampires are out of the coffin, and all Michelle wants to do is go back to her hometown, where she can live out the rest of her days as peacefully as she can. But on her first night, she walks into a bar called Merlotte's, where she meets a waitress who is anything but ordinary.
