Advent Calender story!!!
Meredith and Nick, two orphans living in a group home, have known each other forever. They were always inseparable, not even the 2 year age gap between them could tear that friendship apart. But something did, something bigger than them. When Meredith is twelve, she gets adopted by a nice family and he convinces her to go enjoy her new life. Under one condition: they will be allowed to see each other once a year on Christmas day. And for the first few years it works, even though they are inevitably growing apart since she's now the daughter of a wealthy doctor and he doesn't even know what he'll do after he turns eighteen. One day they have a big fight over this and Nick stops showing up on Christmas day. Little by little Meredith learns to live without him. But she doesn't know that this was just the beginning of their story...
