Spencer's a mess as she tries to recover from what she had just endured at the end of book 3. Thankfully, with the help of her husband, team, friends, and kids, she makes it through it and is able to see another day.
Everything went back to normal for her. For about a day.
Until it wasn't.
When Spencer's heart is shattered by losing one of the most important people in her life, she turns to the only thing she knows; self sabotage.
But her marriage with Jay is strong enough to pull her out of it, right? Is it? Does their marriage last? Can Jay bring his wife back when she falls down a rabbit hole he once watched his former partner Erin Lindsay fall down?
If the job doesn't kill them, maybe love will. Maybe loving somebody with everything you have is the most foolish and dangerous thing you could do. But hey, if loves boring, what's the point?
Maybe this time, the darkness is too much.
Maybe this time, it's too strong.
Maybe this time, the darkness consumes Spencer before Jay can save her.
He's saved her before, what happens if this time he can't?

Another Life
Hailey and Jay had been married a month and were settling into that life well. There were still a few bumps they experienced as they grew accustomed to the new change but like most of the bumps they had come across in the past, they got over them without a problem. Accompanied with their two and a half-year-old daughter Macie currently in the midst of the so-called "terrible twos", the two of them have their hands full, especially alongside their demanding jobs and with Jay up for a possible promotion in the near future.
