A group of people who called themselves The Scientists began this catastrophe. They claimed to want peace, and to help mankind. But, when man ignored them, they answered with war.
Once the war ended, only a handful survived. They told the survivors that they were going to help; that they would be fine. And then, they killed them.
They gained control. Their system worked for over a century, but now Earth is healing. Their grip is loosening and the system is starting to fail. And what will they do when a certain girl is un-plugged?

Stray Humans
It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. Most survivors live in hidden cities, avoiding the ancient ruined cities at all costs. But not Jace and his crew. As a group of Stray Humans, they've made the decaying cities their home, roaming the forgotten streets, never staying in one place for long, and bringing all their skills to the table. They are a family, working together to make sure those things, Aliens, never take another human as long as they are near. When the aliens of A.C.R. (Animal Care and Rescue) find a new group of humans wandering the ruins of a large city, they think it will be an easy capture. But they soon learn that these particular humans have more willpower than most. They dodge every trap, disappear around every bend, and even manage to take some of the already captured humans with them. The aliens pity these "little creatures"-they just don't want to leave their home, but Earth is falling apart at the seams, and they are determined to take the stubborn little humans to the safety of one of the mother planets. In the blink of an eye, things change. An ominous message is sent out to all of those below the age of sixteen, providing precise instructions that suggest they flee. Escaping the Monster's Embrace (OLD BEING REWRITTEN )
(Currently being rewritten under a new name The Claimed) Everything changed when they came out of hiding, terror spread across the world as people began to question if our presidents and our global leaders lied to us and weren't from the same race. The Beasts blended in amongst us as if we were the same, except humans didn't have the same predatory instincts and we couldn't change our forms like they could. Soon after we learnt that we weren't the only species people began going missing. Some were unlucky and taken as something that the Beasts called a Mate that one word made fear spread throughout my veins, I would rather sell my soul than have one of them mutts chain me to them. Six months went by before the government, that was un-tainted by this vile race began to take action into their own hands contacting other countries and militaries causing the great war to happen, sending both my parents off to fight for our rights. Only one of them came back, two months was the longest we lasted before we were overpowered by them. Six years of living in this dysfunctional environment and my hatred had never dwindled. Some people still believed in god and had faith in him, I didn't know what I believed in but I prayed like everyone else that I would get through another day without hearing the soul crushing word 'Mate'. In the future, science has found a way to re-animate the dead and make them pliant servants for the wealthy. They buy the units for 10,000 for a base model. More attractive units sell higher as well as the more physically fit the model is the higher the price. The units are used for anything and everything their owner wants, from household work to administrative duties, to even being sexual companions. They are each programmed with a hard drive in their brain that works like a computer and allows them to have a quick mind and agility, as well as nano machines in their body to repair any damage that can occur with normal usage. There are some people who still view the units as a dead body and have trouble interacting with them in their daily life. But most of the population is too poor to even afford one so this problem is left to the upper classes that can buy the units. For some, poverty is worse than death. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden.
