"Ever have one of those days where your whole world flips upside down?" I ask him, trying to explain without sounding crazy. "Yeah why?" this time he does shrug. "Well I'm having one of those days" I push off from the ground so that I'm now swinging. "That sucks, but you know what happens when the world turns upside down," he pauses for me to acknowledge his question "you get used to it being upside down, and after a while you don't notice anymore. Yeah sure the memory of how things used to be hurt's, but it gets better, I promise" he then kicks off to make his swing go back and forth. We swing for a little while before he turns to me "hey it's kind of late, aren't your parents concerned about where you are?" "They were expecting me home a long time ago" I say, he doesn't pick up the sad tone in my voice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kaison had her whole life ahead of her, she was the top of her class, the boy next door was in love with her, and she had the best's friends that she could ask for. I wrote this for EVERYONE. To appeal to anyone that reads ANY genre. It combines almost all of them. It's an introduction to the Worlds of Within universe. When you get to the action parts (which doesn't take long) you should be invested enough to want to unravel the mysteries and enjoy its intrigue... The flood is raging. A terrifying, heartless mountain of water, swallowing the world . The tunnel networks? Of course, that won't save them. The forests? Like leaves in a breeze. The lookout towers and trade hubs? Gone. Washed clean. Every home, every last trace of what once was. Gamleon is the first to see it ... and survive. His mind is near collapse, his heart broken. He runs. What would YOU do? What could anyone do? Some scrape by in a mythological setting of beasts and medieval men. Cruel, literally cold-blooded Gorgon hordes enforce an absolute rule slithering in the tunnels beneath the feet of every kingdom. There is an isolated, forgotten place. A cavern, magnificent and vast, older than civilization. A place where the weird and the unwanted might ride out this cataclysm if Gamleon can stay alive long enough to get them there.. In this special place, something incredible, cut off from the outside, lurks. Something... you won't be ready for or ever expect. Gamleon, our weary adventurer, is a paradox: terrifying to some perhaps, yet his heart and intent is helpful, with a quiet dignity bordering on noble, intimidating and innately intelligent. The only way back out is to navigate the Gorgon tunnels. Join him, won't you ? Share his inner thoughts . See and feel how they help us all learn how to persist and triumph in spite of a world where everything is stacked against us. ( sound familiar, it should.) Join him and be swept away as he encounters or invents never-before-seen innovations and outrageous challenges. Dignity meets hope. Self-respect shines beyond courage. Welcome my friend to the Worlds of Within.

you know i haven't slept in weeks? you're the only thing i see. "It just sucks," you whispered. "Everything I do now is so secretive. And I can't help but feel guilty... not because I'm lying to them about being with you, but because I have to. And because there used to be a point in time when I thought like how they did." You looked at him in shame and he shook his head slowly, a tight-lipped smile on his face. "Barley, I am so sorry for---" "You don't have to apologize for anything," he said. "You didn't know me. You said that before." "I should've gotten to know you a long time ago," you said. "I've wasted so much time that I could've been spending with you." "While I agree with you that it sucks that we missed so much time, I am extremely happy that we are friends now and I wouldn't trade any of this for anything. Except maybe being able to go out without knowing that if your parents see us, we're toast," he said, and you laughed again. "I don't think you have to be guilty about anything. Opinions change and you didn't know me. Now you do. Do you think bad of me now?" "No," you said. Your voice was soft. "I think you're the greatest person I've ever known." \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ BASED ON "BAD INFLUENCE" from my Onward imagines.
