Dr. Donald Sonn has been practicing medicine for many years. He received his medical degree in 1991 and completed his residencies in 1997. That same year he began practicing at the Urology Group of Western New England in Springfield, Massachusetts, and has been practicing there ever since.
As an undergraduate, Dr. Donald Sonn attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Always an outstanding student, he made the Dean's list there every year from 1983 to 1987. Making the Dean's list gave him a great sense of personal achievement, but as he knows, it also looks great on a résumé, and as an ambitious young man that meant a lot to him.
The requirements for making the Dean's list are different from school to school, but the one thing they have in common is academic excellence, usually demonstrated in the form of a high grade point average over the course of a semester or a school year. Dr. Donald Sonn has no doubt that being on the Dean's list played a factor in his acceptance to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine after he graduated from SUNY Stony Brook. Making the Dean's list, he says, is synonymous with academic success, and is always looked on favorably by admissions boards, as well as fellow students and faculty members.
Dr. Donald Sonn graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1991, and completed Residencies in Surgery and Urology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park in 1997. He is a member of the American Medical Association, and was elected at Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2001.
