Loners Ravenpaw and Barley have it all. After more Twolegplace was built, destroying the forest, the two toms were left alone except for the occasional rogue, and kittypets. The barn is every cat's dream prey-place, but when Ravenpaw notices a slight change of scent, he begins to question the local Twolegs' cleanliness; and safeness. When the odd scent lingers, and Ravenpaw notices a harsh decrease in mice numbers, he has no choice but to question Barley on their health in staying in the barn. Will he have to make a choice? Will Barley approve of Ravenpaw's choice? Or will Ravenpaw have to choose between safety and friendship?

And Barley can sometimes be very unreasonable. . .
