Plato Foster is known for many things: his artwork, his empathic abilities, and his connection to an elite ring of assassins. He keeps everyone but his adopted daughter at arms' length, isolating himself from the hatred of others. When Plato gets a new shop neighbor named Sebastian Keys with a child the same age as Plato's, Plato intends to put on the same show he has for everyone else. Except, Sebastian doesn't hate him. Plato isn't sure what surprises him more-that someone outside of his one friend and daughter likes him, or that every time Plato sets eyes on Sebastian he gets butterflies like a schoolboy.

With a crush on his daughter's best friend's dad and demons he left in the past clawing their way to the present, Plato doesn't think his life could get much weirder... until it inevitably does.
