'The next batch of players will be arriving soon.'

'Remember to act your part well. Don't step out of bounds. Don't go out of character or you'll suffer the consequences.'

In the game world, Faye was nothing but an NPC who owned a bookstore. That was all the players saw, and that was what she was known as, but what if she was more than that?

After a meeting with the 'main character' of the game, things take a turn for the NPC Faye and she becomes more aware of her status and the world around her, more than she ever did before.

Raiven Cassidy Morille, a renowned investigative journalist, had built her career on exposing the hidden corruption of powerful figures-especially politicians. Her articles, sharp and unflinching, had laid bare the dark truths lurking behind their polished façades. She had no illusions about the risks. In fact, she embraced them, driven by a fierce commitment to the truth, even if it meant putting her life on the line. Tonight, it seemed those risks had finally caught up to her. She lifted her eyes to meet the cold, calculating gaze of her captor-a man whose loyalty was clearly to power and wealth rather than any sense of morality. The bitterness of her smirk reflect her disgust. People like him, who sold their principles for influence, made her skin crawl. But even in the face of imminent death, she stood resolute. She had done what was right, and watching these criminals rot behind bars would be her ultimate triumph-if only she lived to see it. Her breaths slowed, and Raiven felt the crushing weight of impending doom as she prepared to meet her end. But just as she braced for the final blow, a sudden volley of gunfire broke through the night air. Muffled groans echoed around her as the men who held her captive fell one by one. With her vision swimming in and out of focus, she squinted toward a distant figure, barely able to make out the silhouette of someone approaching. The world was spinning, and she could feel her strength draining rapidly. "Captain, the coast is clear," a voice called out, crisp and commanding. Those were the last words Raiven heard before darkness swallowed her whole, pulling her into unconsciousness. But as her mind slipped away, one word lingered, echoing in her fading thoughts: Captain. Whoever this "Captain" was, he/she had saved her. And when she awoke, Raiven knew that she would find out exactly who had come to her rescue.

This book is now available at Barnes & Noble and nook. This is now only a sneak peak of the book. Trina is a writer, one of her books finally made the best sellers list, so why can't she seem to write another one just as good. She's spent every dime she had, thinking that there would be more to come but even books on the best sellers list stop selling over time. What she needs is another novel, what she's stuck with is writers block. Seeing no other option, she's forced to move back in with her parents. Of course, she could do worse, I mean come on they live on a beach. It's absolutely beautiful with its quaint cottages and sandy beaches that stretch for miles. Trina left this small Island for the big city life long ago after something tragic happened. She has kept this secret for years and intends to die with this secret, until she gets drunk one night and confides in an old friend, Sebastian. Sebastian is sexy, hot and successful, he's a doctor, she could do worse right? And then, there's Alex who she was in love with ten years ago when she ran from the island, does she still love him, or should she leave the past in the past and find happiness with Sebastian. Does she even see Sabastian as more than just a friend? Alex is an ex-Marine turned Sheriff of the island. He's seen more than one man should in their lifetime and is a little broken from the experience. Add that to the fact that Trina broke his heart ten years ago and you get an angry man with a chip on his shoulder. Does his cold exterior match what he's really feeling inside, or has he never quite gotten over Trina? Only he knows the truth as he keeps her at arm's length. COMPLETED✅ Two high school teenagers finding themselves, analyzing this ever changing world, and building love. This is the type of love you wish you found in high school but probably know way too well that it only exists as fiction. Today I'm turning my fiction to reality. ❣️•••❣️ Excerpt: Just as I was about to seek shelter under some building's roof, the tires of a car come to a halt, I wonder who might pity the lonely girl walking in the rain. The passenger window rolls down, and I spot the most unexpected person seated behind the wheel. "Get in" comes out his voice, and I must've stood there agape for a few moments because next comes his rhetorical question. "Are you getting in or continuing walking in the rain?" Eyebrows raised expectantly. He sounds annoyed, like he regrets his decision to ever stop and help me. ❣️•••❣️ #5 in cynical #2 in loveandfriendship #1 in opinionated #4 in ihatelife #10 in nerdgirl #10 in HighschoolRomance #26 in GoodGirlBadBoy *contains mature themes. *contains cursing.
