A brief glimpse of the relationship between young men and old men; the disconnection between the two; and how they can make amends.
Trenton, NJ is stricken with a certain cultural dichotomy, but that didn't stop J.M.V. from becoming the man he believed he was destined to be. A hustler for most of his young life, he managed to finish school and become a mentor to some of his peers, until part of his destiny took a turn for what many would say was the worst. He didn't know that turn would set him on a most positive journey. He embraced Islam as his religion which grounded him in the fundamentals of manhood; at the same time, equipping him with employable traits that would lead him away from a life of crime. Considering himself an old soul, J.M.V. gravitated toward the older crowds. It was this gravitation that alerted him to the disconnection between older and younger generations. Now it is one of his life's missions - to remove the discord between these two groups. He wishes to mend the problem he calls, "The Breaking of the Cuban Link." He believes that he can do so by solidifying the bond between the old heads and the young heads...

"Shit, shit! Why did you stab me!?" I exclaim, laying on the floor with my hand grasping my side, not really putting thought into what I'm saying anymore. "Well what did you think I came here to do!?" He still has his knife out, pointed out towards me. I grab the closest object and hold it out in front of me, this just so happens to be a can of hairspray. "No, you stay back there, I don't want you doing any more damage than you've already done." He falters for a second and stares at the can of hairspray before looking back at me, "I am a murderer, this is my job...you know what this is just getting annoying." - An 18yr old serial killer under the name of "Jeff The Killer" has been tormenting a small town in southern Mississippi for around a month now. He didn't know why he decided to target this town, he just needed to blow off some steam. He didn't want to be controlled anymore, he needed something different. When he meets (Y/n), and fails to kill him, will he actually find someone that understands him? (Y/n), also 18yrs old, is stuck in a house with an emotionally and physically abusive step sister, an avoidant step brother, a Dad who seemed to care more about his work and social status then his son, and a distant step mother. On the outside he looks perfect, he seems to have everything handed to him. On the inside though, however much he may think he's a saint, it's all a ruse to hide his homicidal thoughts. He prays for something new, something that will save him from the drone of life. However the way that prayer is answered might not be what he intended, but what he needs. "What?" Ethan says in his all too familiar deep, rude voice. Ethan has pitch-black hair, is 6 feet tall, with a solid build. His deep grey eyes are glaring at me right now. His jawline is so sharp I'm sure it can cut through anything. "You hit me, spilling my coffee all over me," I say, pointing out the obvious. "So, what do you want me to do about it?" he asks, like he's done nothing wrong. "You're supposed to say sorry," I say in a duh tone. "And why should I?" "Because that's what people with manners do." "I know that, but you don't deserve a sorry from me." "Wow. And why is that?" "Because black bitches like you don't deserve it," he says with a sneer. "I have told you times without number to stop calling me that," I say, angry at his insults. "Make me," Ethan says, taking a dangerous step closer. I don't say anything but hiss and walk past him. I don't know why I expected him to apologize. It's Ethan, after all. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ethan is a young male about to get his first degree, he might look normal to the world, but don't we all have our demons inside. "Barron, can I ask you a question?" I said as I twiddled my fingers together nervously. He nodded his head giving me his full attention. "What are we doing?" I asked softly. Barron rested his elbow on the table and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, I guess we are hanging out." He answered with no emotion. "Hanging out? You taking me to all these places is just us hanging out?" I said a little taken back. I was not prepared for that reply. I should have known. "I can't promise you that shit will get better," Booker said. "But I can promise you that I'll be here with you while you go through it." Mani stayed quiet for a second, staring at the blanket between them. "Even if we're not what we were before?" He looked at her, dead serious. "You still matter. That didn't stop just 'cause we changed." She swallowed. "I know you want to be here. I'm just scared one day you won't." Booker tilted his head, brows pulling together. "Why you say that?" "'Cause people don't always stay when it stops being easy. And I know I haven't been... easy to be around." He shook his head, lips tugging into a tiny, crooked smile. "Mani. You think I show up 'cause it's easy?" She didn't answer. He leaned in, just a little. "I'm here 'cause even when it's hard, even when you push me back-I still want this. I still want 𝘺𝘰𝘶.
