CARTER is a ghostly spirit stuck in the body of his father, PETER.Stuck in the Vatican in a job he hates. Although access to the Thunder Vault of Secrets has its advantages. His need for vengeance is tempered by his natural need to investigate a conspiracy to rule the world through religion. His father's planned involvement presents ethical issues for his soul.

He needs a TEACHER from the HereAfter to guide him but instead, he has an Artificial Intelligence computer called HAIL who is too annoyingly like Teacher in intellect and sarcasm for comfort.

As an unabashed ladies man in a previous life you would think the opening up of the Vatican to an influx of beautiful young women would be a boon. However, the complication of his life by his affections for them could spell disaster for his plans to finally avenge, not only his own death, but also the murders of his real mother and grandmother.

He never imagined he would need so much female assistance in his efforts to save the world. Not to mentioni in taking out his father. He also had no idea how he was going to get back to the HereAfter and what changes might await him since his unplanned return to Earth..

Third and final book in the HereAfter Series of Love's Lies, Secrets, Murder, and Religion.

"Born again, are you all dreaming? Wake up! Nicodemus was right! There's no way you can be born again! We're all already here, we were born! Now, we're gonna die! It's as simple as that." My face was hot and my hands were shaking. We're all gonna die... I pushed the memory back and shook my head, eyes angry and staring down the pastor. "Jesus fed his disciples and all the people around him a whole bunch of crap and they ate it." "Naomi!" "He didn't know what he was talking about because fictional characters in a story never do. They say the lines their authors give them because it's their job to. They don't exist. He never existed. You all should realize that sooner or later instead of wasting your time here, it's screwing with your minds." A pin could have dropped from the top floor and we would all hear it. "Then why don't you just leave." The cold words plummeted against my chest as quickly as they came. That was the pin drop, the end to all the excitement, but not. My heart hammered against my rib cage as the voice echoed through my ears, playing over and over. His words, they were insulting, they hurt, but I didn't show it. I turned and faced him and his eyes remained indifferent towards me. I froze in my seat. They were once this bright hazel, but they seemed darker now, furious. "If you feel that way, then leave." He spat. His jaw clicked at the end of his sentence. "Take your opinions, take your anger, take your indignant heart, and leave this church." ~~~ It never occurred to Naomi that He could have been real, that maybe a life of emotional hardship was the plan for her all along. If it had occurred, she never accepted the thought. She never accepted anything, but Carter. What was life? What was love? What was pain? What was happiness? What is God? Read the story of a broken girl who finds the truth through love.
The Enigma Protocol: No Brother of Mine (Book 1) by InkVail

Two estranged brothers. One ancient secret. And nowhere to run, not from Enigma, and not from each other. But history won't hand you the truth. You'll have to piece it together yourself. Ask questions. The story might answer back. *** Teorin is close to uncovering the truth behind his father's disappearance, until a stolen drive puts him in the crosshairs of the one person he can't outrun: the brother who left him behind. Marcus walked away to protect his family. Now an old ally drags him back into his brother's orbit, forcing a choice: expose the truth, seek revenge, or protect the brother he thought he'd already lost. In a world scarred by solar storms, power isn't just political, it's biological. People are born with affinities-heat, memory, pressure, time-and someone in the shadows is erasing anyone who digs too deep. 📖 Told through prose, in world documents, and comment threads (yes, the actual comments). Each voice carries its own style, from clipped restraint to dramatic flair. The Enigma Protocol isn't just a story; it's a reconstruction. You'll have to decide where the truth lies. A slow-burn science-fantasy epic for fans of The Expanse, Mistborn, and Annihilation-where found family and fractured loyalties collide with ancient mysteries. 💬 Take part if you want. Ask. Dig. Connect the dots. The story gives as much as you do. ⚠️ Warning: Characters may break containment (yes, they might reply to you). Meet your host on the "Welcome Page"-an optional in-universe introduction. Also available on Royal Road.

Katya I made a terrible mistake the night of my brother's wedding. I had too much fun and ended up in bed with New York's notorious crime boss. He never told me his name, and I never told him mine. That was it until the two red lines on the pregnancy test. It was over for me at that moment. I was scared because I didn't know who the father was. I could go to Adrik, but that would make everything worse. My Mama would be ashamed of me for producing a baby when I wasn't married, especially since I gave that man my innocence. It was against our beliefs, and what I did tarnished my soul forever. It's my big secret, or so I thought. The devil has come to collect his dues, but I can do nothing about it. He controls everything and everyone and is the boss of all bosses. He knows what I did and will punish me for it. Gaetano I've watched her for years. That night on the yacht, we did something that was never part of the plan. The worst part of it was the blood she coated me in. It was only an obsession, but Katya Mikhailova begged me to take her innocence, her worst mistake. I formed a plan to steal her from my enemy, Adrik Mikhailov, but there was no plan after that night. She was mine to keep. I waited and offered territory, but it was the worst thing I did. She stole from me, and her brother has his business in my territory. It wasn't her decision, but I regretted not coming to her sooner. Katya will pay for the sin she has committed, and I'll burn her with my flames. **COMPLETED** Several years after the world succumbed to a deadly strain of measles that turned those infected into crazed, mindless cannibals, Charlotte wanders the backroads alone, content with surviving day-to-day. That is until she crosses paths with Nate and his daughter, Emmi. Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.
