Bound by Fate

When high-school dropout Paige Caddel ends up at a school for mages, she finds out that there is a lot more to the world than she thinks. Deities are real, and so are mages, humans with a fraction of a deity's power. At the headquarters of the Organization Of Mages In Training, known as OOMIT, Paige must learn to fight and wield the gift she was given.

However, Paige is an artist struggling with debt, not a fighter. Oblivious, clumsy, and gullible, Paige is nowhere near suited for a place where it is the survival of the fittest. Her classmates outshine her in almost every way possible, especially Paige's roommate, a prodigy who seems to hate her and the talented boy she always seems to crash into.

But behind the safe haven that OOMIT presents itself as lurks the dark side of the deity's history. When whispers of rebellion and dark secrets from the past come to light again, Paige can no longer back away from her problems. Barely able to draw out her power, let alone harness it, Paige must step up to fulfill what she was fated to do before the world is scarred forever.
