Society collectively decided that locking Dr. Eggman up wasn't enough to insure that doom and destruction would never descend upon them again, so the chaos emeralds were divided between seven cities that survived the war.

Now six years later, trouble is brewing on the day of Green Hill City's Emerald Festival: the only day of the year that the chaos emerald the city protects is put on display. Some hearts are still burdened by scars left from the conflict six years ago, and others harbor feelings that they are too scared to show. Will Sonic and his friends be able to overcome these challenges and stop the world from descending into darkness once again?
