You wake up one day in a hospital bed thinking how did I get here and why does my head hurt? You look around and it looks like no one has been there in years. Everything is covered in layers in dust and grime. The window is covered with a thick sheet. Why? You go rip it off the wall and you see outside. The city you used to call your home is a waste land. Everything is dead, there are body's in the streets and abandoned cars everywhere. In the far distance you see an enormous dome where everything inside is a luscious green. What happened here and why don't I remember any of it? You turn to leave and see a note on the door with an old rusty nail. " Alexa, we are sorry to inform you but you are one of the delirious. Your mind has been wiped blank except for the necessities. - The Dome
What does this mean? Alexa is about to find out. As she continues in her journey to find her destiny, she meets some new friends along the way who help her adapt to this new world she is living in. Only thing is some of them are not entirely human, and neither is she.

What do you do when everything you know has been ripped away from you and you are changing? But into what?

I've been waiting for this moment for over a year now. Hoping, dreaming, holding onto the picture in my mind what life could be like. I always thought this would never come. Thinking it's impossible for me to have a new start. Go to a new place, see new faces, meet new people. It always felt like walking through a desert with a map drawn in water. But even then, I never let go of my dream. I would close my eyes and imagine everything. How different I would feel waking up in the morning, how light my chest would feel, how more confident and comfortable I would feel. I was kind of writing my own little story in my head. And now, I'm just one zip of my suitcase away and my story will be coming to life. ------------------------------- Venus Jennings didn't just leave Harbor Ridge, she escaped it. Haunted by loss and chased by memories she can't outrun. Venus builds a quiet new life in a new town where no one knows her name or the pain she carries. She wants a fresh start in hopes to finding something she's never truly had: Peace, freedom, and maybe even love. Lucas Solace is the last person Venus thought she would ever cross paths with. He's kind, sincere, incredibly handsome and impossible to ignore. He's everything Venus believes she doesn't deserve. With his charm and persistence she slowly catches herself falling for him. She doesn't want to because trust and love doesn't come easy to her when the past she's running from still haunts her in ways she can't explain . But she wonders if letting him in might not be so dangerous after all. As Venus begins to open up to new possibilities, shadows of her past resurface forcing her to confront the reality she's been avoiding instead of just accepting to be free.

A dystopian thriller that evolves into a violent sci-fi nightmare with hints of monster (very) dark romance. --------- Alice has a good life: a great job, a cozy, paid-off apartment, and a loving husband. She also has an oppressive government, a war-torn city, and general social decay around her, and what seems to be an alien invasion, though nobody is willing to admit it. You know, the kind of things that can really throw a wrench into a morning commute. She should have left a long time ago, but right or wrong, it's her country. What's the worst that could happen? No, seriously, what's literally the worst? ------ It starts as my lightest and most melancholic work, but will end up the heaviest -- expect constantly rising tension as we go from moody dystopia into politics and philosophy into bdsm and violence, and into... oh well, read it. Overarching themes: evolution, adaptation, duty, freedom, metal music. The first 10 chapters are a clean, dystopian, political story. From 11th chapter on, wheels come off. I tried to make it sound universal; still, you can figure out approximately when I had it first outlined. Warnings (from chapter 11 on): violence, attempted SA, dubcon, smut. ----------- If you are reading this story on any other platform other than Wattpad you are very likely to be at risk of a malware attack. After getting expelled from her family and being homeless, she almost died on the streets from sickness and hunger. Due to her high fever, she doesn't remember what happened afterwards but woke up in an emergency room. According to the doctor, she was found in front of the hospital half-dead. After that, Social Services took her in, and she got put in an orphanage. After going through a hard and exhausting life, Kaori dies at 28 and finds herself in a space filled with lights. She finds out that once she touches the light dots, information poured into her head. Due to extreme boredom while being stuck in the space, she starts learning the information she gets from the light spots. While absorbing the information, her body and mind goes into a meditative state. This means that she had no concept of time. Due to this, she didn't know she spent 10,000,000 years in the space. After, 10 million years, she finally gets expelled from that space and finds herself reincarnated in an ordinary family in a different universe. With all the knowledge she has gained from absorbing all the light spots in the space, watch how Kaori, the smartest person in the universe, navigates through life like a boss. Author's Note: I suck at writing summaries. Trust me, it is better than the summary portrays.

❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core.
