Second Impact Syndrome (SIS) is a condition in which an individual experiences a second head injury before complete recovery from an initial head injury. Symptoms can include anything from headache, nausea, confusion, and blurry vision to memory loss and even brain death.
Rose Gilmore, the best friend of Billie Eilish, in medical terms was lucky. Though in same cases she would've much preferred death over what she lost instead. A full ride scholarship to Julliard, a role for her dream of being on Broadway, and a vast majority of her memories.
The only person she seems to remember is Billie, her blue-eyed best friend who she's been, not slowly at all, falling in love with for years. So much so she starts to wonder if she made her up. After a surprise kiss in a bathroom at a birthday party, the two then sweeping through a two week long whirlwind romance. Dates and making love underneath the stars and in the backseat of cars. Cuddles and movie nights and homemade dinners together.
Until an unexpected fight over Billie's commitment lead to a freak accident upstairs.
Billie is now left to care for Rose during her recovery, regaining her motor skills and memory. Though she'll have to decide which memories she prefers for her to keep and whether this lifelong friendship can lead to anything more.
