In this world you either have a Soulmate, a person to be there for you even past death. Or a Hellmate, someone completely incompatible to you, but regardless you are stuck together. You find out which one you have since birth, for the first 8 years of your life you either have a light pale yellow eye colour for having a Soulmate or a dark crimson red for a Hellmate.

Patton Hart was stuck with a Hellmate, Janus Mendax: he lies, goes through his stuff, and overall just likes to bother him.

However Logan Croft wasn't given either, when he was born his eyes stayed the same emerald green, it just being his eye colour. His father says he can "choose his own destiny and find the girl who he wants to be with." Logan wasn't really looking for a relationship nor was he interested in the expectations his father had for him. All he wanted was to work as the CEO of his company without any distractions.

Until Patton applies for a job to be Logan's personal assistant. Patton and Janus aren't together less, Logan and Patton become closer, Janus makes a new.. friend, and some new people are shown.
