15 year old Stella Grace Walker is a renown junior dressage rider. While taking a break from competing, Stella, her brother and her parents move back to the little island off the coast of England with her beautiful palomino named Aurora, along with her brother's and mum's horses. Before moving away from her home, Stella once had a connection with Raven, a mysterious black horse that's far stronger than the one he has with the new girl, Zoe Phillips, a bond that cannot be broken.

Upon returning home, Stella meets new faces, such as Zoe Phillips, a girl from the States, and old ones too, and makes enemies as well as friends. Stella reunites with her childhood friend, Pin Hawthorne, but maybe there's more between them than just friendship?

Just when she thinks she can get a quiet and peaceful summer, Stella is thrown into a whirlwind of horse thieves and blossoming romance. Can Stella and her friends protect Raven? Or will they fail?

There was once a girl who loved more deeply and hurt more painfully than any normal person. But the thing is, she isn't normal. She wasn't "made" correctly. She was different from her family. Her eyes were gold. Her hair was curly. She was the shortest in her family at 5Ft 5In. She had stopped growing. She didn't fit the pattern. Still, she tried to blend in, which was hard for a girl like her. In a field of white roses, she was blood red. She once loved a man who left her without as much as a goodbye. It nearly killed her. She thought she would never love again. That is, until a certain Original family came to town. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Diana (DEE-ana) Bellerose Age: 18 Hair Color: Brown Hometown: Austin, Texas (I know! Fifteen-year-old Kaylin Podmore has a pretty great life, basically everything a teenager living in Lexington, Kentucky could ever dream of. Her parents own one of the most successful Thoroughbred racehorse operations in the country and she has three of the best friends any girl could have, especially as her freshman year of high school starts to come to an end. She catches the eye of Lucas Mitchell, a sophomore starting quarterback for her school's varsity football team. As they learn about one another and grow closer, a potential serious relationship starts to grow between them, but her ex-boyfriend Jesse Landford, her older sister Kimberly and Lucas's ex-girlfriend, Nichole Young, are determined to try to keep them from getting together for different reasons. Kaylin knows Nichole is a stuck up spoiled rich girl, and she doesn't believe a word that Nichole says about her and Lucas, but her sister's another story. She and Kim know their dad isn't exactly keen on either of his daughters dating so it causes problems in-between them after Kim shares the news with their dad about her and Lucas's budding relationship. Other than their friends, the only people who seem to like the idea of Kaylin and Lucas potentially getting together are her mom and his family, who're all being supportive because they know each other from their kids going to school together and being in the same business, even if they're competitors. Her mom often has to settle disputes in-between her and her dad but that doesn't mean her dad is going to stop being negative about Kaylin's growing relationship with Lucas. Kaylin is set on finishing out the year, hopefully with Lucas as her boyfriend despite the trouble it is causing in her life to have a great summer with her friends and watching her favorite horse, Faith's Magic, start her racing career.

In the final days of autumn, a young princess climbs her favourite tree clutching a folded star of paper to her aching heart. Contained within its crisp lines are recountings of her dreams and darings... and a plea that she might, at last, be welcomed home. With a kiss for luck, she tosses her star to the southbound winds, and stumbles her way to a crumbling cottage in the deep woods. Years pass and the constellations spin, her pleas have gone unanswered. The princess grows, and her uncertainties are buried beneath the gentle earth of spurned hopes. It is now, when she has almost forgotten how to wish on morning stars, that an invitation of smoke and dream light arrives, carried on horseback by soldiers of a different kingdom; the Dark Moon Ball might prove her salvation. She does not yet know that love is an exquisite, wretched thing and that wishes are fickle as wisp light. She does not yet know that paths of magic have their own sense of poetry, and walking them presses footprints into the deepest sands of self, remaining even as the stars and seasons turn. She does not yet know that home is where you keep your north star.
